Why You Should Think Twice Before Buying A New Car

A car is a convenient mode of transportation that gets you from one place to another. You wouldn’t have to worry about waiting for the train or the bus or maybe even a taxi just to get to work every day if you have a car.

However, that isn’t much of a bad thing compared to the amount of money you will have to spend for your car on a regular basis.

The main reason why you shouldn’t even BUY one in the first place is simply the costs. You think all you have to worry about is buying it? That the spending stops after you buy the thing? No, no, of course it can’t be that easy.

Yes, this is a thing. You waste your money for it on a regular basis, unless you got yourself a car that has less maintenance. It got me thinking that if I had to not only buy an expensive car, but also pay for the gasoline and maintenance all the time, then wouldn’t it be better to just commute every day instead? Being the man of the family isn’t easy, since there are mouths that I need to feed three times a day. Tuition fees aren’t exactly cheap either. Bills take a big chunk out of my salary too and I barely get to buy other important items that are necessary for all of us. Could I really afford to buy a new car?

We penny-pinching dads are better off just riding the bus. Or used cars.

Used cars

Let’s face it. The main reason why we want to get a car is so we can have something that gets us from point A to point B most of the time. What else is a car used for? So if that was the main point into buying one in the first place, why not just settle for used ones? They’re cheaper and that saves you the trouble of having to spend too much on something that only has one purpose. It’s not like a phone that has about a billion uses where it could let you communicate, work and have fun all at the same time. Be smarter about how you spend your money on. Unless you have absolutely no reason to worry about your money because you’re well off, then think twice on what you buy.

Even if it’s supposed to be for the family. At least with used cars, the registration fees are lower. After all, the rate of the registration fee is actually based on the value of your car, you won’t have to worry about spending way too much on the used car you eventually will have. You can find more benefits on used cars if you ask the right people if you aren’t that sure about it. Again, be smarter about money.
